Kekuli Bay Park
The name “Kekuli” originates from an Interior Salish word that means “homes partially built into the earth.” This campground was once a boat launch, but after planting trees and shrubs about 20 years ago, it became the beautiful shady campground it is today. Every site at this stunning spot has a view of the pristine blue Kalamalka Lake.
There are 73 sites at Keluki Bay, four of which offer power hookups. Each location also has a picnic table and a fire pit; these sites are all reservable. Amenities include free hot showers, flush toilets, and outdoor washup sinks.
Try an adventure to Vernon this summer to witness the beauty of the Okanagan. Enjoy any experience on the Kalamalka Lake waters, or spend time in the shade.
Ellison Provincial Park
Located 16 kms from Vernon, this campground is more removed from the city, making it more popular for those looking to escape urban life. This campground offers plenty of shade and privacy. There are areas to swim at one of the three beaches, a day-use area, a scuba diving park, and small cliffs for rock climbing.
For those looking for more adventure, there are multiple mountain biking and hiking trails that offer panoramic views of the lake. There is also plenty of wildlife in the area, so make sure you bring your camera and capture nature.
Sandy Beach Campground
Located in the city of Vernon, this campground is perfect for those looking to go on more day adventures around the city. This spot’s location gives nearby access to the sandy Kin Beach and Paddlewheel Park. Sandy Beach is near shopping malls, grocery stores, beach equipment rentals, and more activities to keep your day full of fun!
